25 Most common verbs in Korean that every Korean learner must know. If you have basic knowledge of Korean language grammar and simple conjugation then, these 25  Korean verbs are going to be the first stepping stone in your Korean learning journey and will boost your Korean skill and help you speak fluently.

가다

to go

ROMANISATION:(ga-da)

MEANING IN ENGLISH: To go 

EXAMPLE: 저는 학교에 가요. (I am going to school.)

먹다

to eat

ROMANISATION:(meok-da)

MEANING IN ENGLISH: To eat 

EXAMPLE: 저는 밥을 먹어요. (I am eating food.)

자다

to sleep

ROMANISATION:(ja-da)

MEANING IN ENGLISH: To sleep

EXAMPLE: 저는 어후에 자요. (I sleep in the afternoon.)

놀다

to play

ROMANISATION:(nol-da)

MEANING IN ENGLISH:To play

EXAMPLE: 저는 공원에 놀라요. (I play in the park.)

입다

to wear

ROMANISATION:(ip-da)

to write

보다

to see

ROMANISATION:(bo-da)

EXAMPLE: 저는 영화를 봐요. (I am watching a movie.)

찾다

to find

ROMANISATION:(chap-da)

MEANING IN ENGLISH: To find

EXAMPLE:한국어 책이 어디에 찾아요? (Where to find a Korean book?)

말하다

to speak

ROMANISATION:(mal-ha-da)

MEANING IN ENGLISH: To speak

EXAMPLE: 제 친구가 한국어를 말해요. (my friend speaks korean.)

놀라다

to be surprised

ROMANISATION:(nol-la-da)

MEANING IN ENGLISH: To be surprised 

EXAMPLE: 왜 놀려요? (Why are you surprised?)

쉽다

to rest

ROMANISATION:(swip-da)

MEANING IN ENGLISH: To rest

EXAMPLE: 저는 저녁에 시워요. (I do rest in the evening.)

타다

to ride

ROMANISATION:(ta-da)

MEANING IN ENGLISH: To ride

EXAMPLE: 저는 차를 타요. (I ride a car.)

운동하다

to exercise

ROMANISATION:(un-dong-ha-da)

MEANING IN ENGLISH: To exercise

EXAMPLE:저는 매일 운동해요. (I exercise daily.)

달리다

to run

ROMANISATION:(dal-li-da)

MEANING IN ENGLISH: To run

EXAMPLE: 저는 아침에 달려요. (I do running in the morning.)

듣다

to listen

ROMANISATION:(deut-da)

MEANING IN ENGLISH: To listen

EXAMPLE: 저는 BTS 노래를 들어요. (I listen to the BTS songs.)

만나다

to meet

ROMANISATION:(man-na-da)

MEANING IN ENGLISH: To meet 

EXAMPLE: 저는 친구를 만나요. (I am meeting my friend.)

사귀다

to date

ROMANISATION:(sa-gwi-da)

MEANING IN ENGLISH: To make friends, To date

EXAMPLE: 저는 자주 새 친구를 사궈요. (I often make new friends.)

기다리다

to wait

ROMANISATION:(gi-da-li-da)

MEANING IN ENGLISH:  To wait 

EXAMPLE: 저는 제 친구를 기다려요. (I am waiting for my friend.)

잃다

to lose

ROMANISATION:(il-da)

MEANING IN ENGLISH:  To lose

만들다

to make

마시다

to drink

MEANING IN ENGLISH: To drink 

EXAMPLE: 저는 차를 마셔요. (I am drinking tea.)

사다

to buy

ROMANISATION:(sa-da)

MEANING IN ENGLISH: To buy 

EXAMPLE: 저는 커트를 사요. (I am buying a coat.)

사랑하다

to love

ROMANISATION:(sa-rang-ha-da)

MEANING IN ENGLISH: To love 

EXAMPLE: 저는 BTS를 사랑해요. (I love BTS.)

After learning these Korean verbs, you can easily make sentences as shown in the examples. The only thing you have to keep in mind is that you should know the basic Korean grammar patterns and basic conjugation. For example, simple present tense conjugations as these examples are based on simple present tense too.
