V/Adj- (으)ㄹ 테니까 [Korean Grammar]

USE:

The pattern "-(으)ㄹ 테니까" is used to express your intention, strong assumption as a basis for making a suggestion, giving advice, or asking for cooperation.

It is often used in daily conversations for making polite requests or cooperative plans.

It is translated as "since I’ll," "because it’ll be," or "as it’s likely that." in English. 

Example:

제가 요리할 테니까 설거지는 해 주세요.
(I’ll cook, so please do the dishes.)

→ The first part expresses my intention to cook, and the second part makes a request based on that intention.


CONJUGATION RULE:

To use "-(으)ㄹ 테니까" you need to conjugate the verb or adjective stem according to the Patchim (Final consonant) rule in Korean:

  • If the verb or adjective stem ends in a Patchim/Consonant, add -을 테니까.
  • If the verb or adjective stem ends in a vowel, add -ㄹ 테니까.

Examples of Conjugation:

  • 하다 (to do) → 할 테니까 (Since I’ll do it…)
  • 오다 (to come) → 올 테니까 (Since they’ll come…)
  • 바쁘다 (to be busy) → 바쁠 테니까 (Since they’ll be busy…)
  • EXAMPLE SENTENCES:


    1. 제가 요리할 테니까 설거지는 해 주세요.
      (I’ll cook, so please do the dishes.)
      मैं खाना बनाऊंगा, इसलिए बर्तन धो देना।

    2. 제가 청소할 테니까 쓰레기를 버려 주세요.
      (I’ll clean, so please take out the trash.)
      मैं सफाई करूंगा, इसलिए कचरा बाहर फेंक देना।

    3. 제가 운전할 테니까 길 좀 알려 주세요.
      (I’ll drive, so please guide me with the directions.)
      मैं गाड़ी चलाऊंगा, तो कृपया रास्ता बता देना।

    4. 날씨가 추울 테니까 따뜻하게 입으세요.
      (The weather will be cold, so dress warmly.)
      मौसम ठंडा होगा, तो गर्म कपड़े पहन लेना।

    5. 제가 늦을 테니까 먼저 가세요.
      (I’ll be late, so go ahead first.)
      मैं देर से आऊंगा, तो आप पहले चले जाएं।

    6. 길이 막힐 테니까 일찍 출발합시다.
      (There will be traffic, so let’s leave early.)
      सड़क पर जाम होगा, तो चलो जल्दी निकलते हैं।

    7. 비가 올 테니까 우산을 가져가세요.
      (It’s likely to rain, so take an umbrella.)
      बारिश होने की संभावना है, तो छाता ले जाना।

    8. 제가 커피를 살 테니까 케이크는 사 오세요.
      (I’ll buy coffee, so please bring the cake.)
      मैं कॉफी खरीदूंगा, तो केक ले आना।

    9. 시험이 어려울 테니까 열심히 공부하세요.
      (The exam will likely be difficult, so study hard.)
      परीक्षा कठिन होगी, तो कड़ी मेहनत करना।

    10. 제가 준비할 테니까 걱정하지 마세요.
      (I’ll prepare it, so don’t worry.)
      मैं तैयारी कर लूंगा, इसलिए चिंता मत करो।
