Scholarships from Universities

Many Korean universities run a variety of scholarship programs for foreign students. Most universities support foreign students for 30~100% of their tuition depending on their academic results. See the website for guidance on scholarships from universities: www.studyinkorea.go.kr

Scholarships from the Korean Government

Various Ministries of the Korean Government run scholarship programs for foreign students and are gradually increasing their quotas. At present, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Culture, Sports & Tourism, and Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade run scholarships for foreign students.

Global Korea Scholarship GKS) for Graduate Students

Announcement: GKS or KGSP Graduate Scholarship – 2021

Eligibility Countries under Diplomatic Relations with Korea
Fields supported All the Fields
Period of support 2 years for Masters, 3 years for Ph. D, 6 months~1 year for Research
(6 months~1 year for Korean language study, if required)
Support provided Round trip air fare, Tuition fees, living costs of 900,000 Won per month, research expenses of 420,000 Won per year for humanities fields and 480,000 Won per year for science fields and medical insurance.

Korean Government Scholarship Program for Undergraduate Students

Period of support 4 years for Undergraduate, 1 year for Korean language study provided separately
Support provided Round trip air fare, Tuition fees, living costs 800,000 Won per month, medical insurance.

Roundtrip Airfares(1,700,000 won on average),
Medical Insurance Premium(15,000 won per month)

Art Major Asian (AMA) Scholarship – Ministry of Culture, Sports & Tourism

Eligibility Excellent Artists from various Asian countries
Fields supported Arts fields (music, dance, fine arts, film, drama, traditional arts)
Period of support 4 years undergraduate, 2~3 years postgraduate
Support provided 18 million won per year for undergraduate, 18 million won per year for postgraduate
Quota 20 people

The International Scholar Exchange Fellowship – Korea Foundation

Support provided 2.2 million Won research expenses, entry expenses, return airfare and insurance
Quota About 50 people

Dr. Satish Satyarthi


Dr. Satish is the founder of LKI School of Korean Language. He got his Masters degree in Korean Language Education from Seoul National University, South Korea under GKS scholarship. He did his M.Phil. and PhD in Korean Language from Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi. He also taught at Centre for Korean Studies, JNU for 2 years. He has a passion for education and technology. He has been involved in Korean language education and research for more than 10 years and has trained thousands of Korean language learners across the globe both online and in physical classrooms.
