LKI Korean Language Courses
Frequently Asked Questions
Faq About LKI
What is the full form of ‘LKI'?
Back in 2009-10, there were not many resources to learn Korean language and there was literally not even a single website or YouTube or Instagram account making lessons for Korean learners in India. That’s when LKI founder Dr. Satish started creating free Korean language lessons in Hindi and English for customised for Indian learners. He name this website - ‘Learn Korean in India’. Later he also started a YouTube channel with the same. Over the period of 10 years, thousands of Korean language learners benefitted from these resources and by 2020 we started getting too many requests to start a well-structured paid Korean language course.
In the second half of 2020, we started as an online Korean language institute. Gradually our name ‘Learn Korean in India’ got shortened as ‘LKI’ by our students and later we formally named our institution LKI School of Korean Language.
What kind of courses does LKI have?
LKI School of Korean Language has Korean language courses from beginner (level 1) to advanced level (level 6). Whether you are just starting Korean language from zero or you are already at advanced level, we have a right course for you.
Apart from Level Certificate Course in Korean (Level 1 - 6), we also have professional courses like Certificate Course in Korean Translation & Interpretation, Certificate Course in Korean Language Teaching (teacher’s training course) and Certificate Course in Business Korean.
TOPIK (Test of Proficiency in Korean) preparation is included in all our courses, so you don’t need to join any separate course for that?
Does LKI also provide offline courses.
The mission of LKI School of Korean Language is to provide the best Korean language training in India to the students who are not in a position to go to Korea for language training. We wanted LKI courses to be best in India, even better than universities and institutions run by Koreans in India. We wanted students from all our India to be able to benefit from our courses and it was not feasible for us to open physical centres in multiple cities.
So from the very beginning we focused on online training. All our courses are completely online. But don’t let the word ‘online’ discourage you. Our classes are more lively and interactive than even offline, physical classes. As you can see in the reviews put by our students on Google.
Where is LKI School of Korean Language located?
We have offices in multiple cities in India, including Delhi, Hyderabad, Bhopal, Jaipur, as well as in Seoul but these offices are for the internal operations of LKI. All our courses and process of admission and exam are completely online and we don’t have the option to visiting LKI offices. The reason is that LKI staff and teachers use these offices for teaching as well as for education and other types of content creation and we don’t want them to be disturbed by random visits.
We will be more than happy to answer any questions or doubts that you may have through call, message or email. You can WhatsApp or call us on +91-9142836815 or send an email to [email protected] or message us through any of our social media and our team will happily assist you.
Is LKI registered with Govt. of India?
Yes, we are registered as an MSME with Government of India.

Faq About LEVELS
I am just starting learning Korean from scratch. Which level should I join?
You should join level 1. This is our course for absolute beginners and we assume that you don’t know anything about Korean language. We start with alphabet, learn connecting letters and making words then making sentences and slowly we progress to conversations.
How much Korean will I be able to learn in 3 months?
Obviously you won’t become a fluent speaker in 3 months in any language. It takes time but we try to teach you as much as possible in these 3 months. After completing the level 1 course, you will be able to:
- Read any Korean text with good pronunciation.
- Write in Korean language.
- Have communication in day-to-day like situations (like meeting and greeting someone, shopping, ordering food, visiting a doctor, having a phone call, making plans, daily life conversations etc., in basic Korean.
I already know Hangul and some basic Korean words and phrases. Which level should I join?
We would recommend you to join Level 1 course if you just know very basic things. Our level 1 course is pretty comprehensive and we cover two complete books (1A and 1B) in this course. It’s very important to have solid foundation so that you don’t struggle at higher levels.
But still if you are not sure, you can take this LEVEL TEST or can call us (+91-9142836815) for counselling.
I have completed Level 1 through self-study or some other institute, can I join level 2 directly?
Yes, you can LKI level 2 course directly if you are comfortable with level 1 syllabus. In case you find level 2 difficult after attending 2-3 classes, you can always request us to shift you to level 1 batch.
I want to pass TOPIK level 3. Can I join level 3 course directly?
If you have not covered level 1 and 2 syllabus, you will not be able to understand level 3 classes properly. Even if you want to achieve TOPIK level 3 or 4, you need to start with level 1 and move on to level 3 gradually.
But if you tool the LEVEL TEST and got recommended level 3 course, you can definitely join it.
Can I change my batch or level after joining.
In case, after joining a course you find that that particular level is not right for you (like it is too easy or too difficult), you can request your teacher or send an email to LKI office and request to be shifter to a lower or higher batch. Any such level change request should be made before the 4th class in that batch is over.
Similarly if you find that the timing is not suiting you or due to some other reason, you want to join the next batch of the same level course, you can request for a batch change before the 4th class in your batch.
After 4 classes are over in any course/batch, no batch/level change request will be accepted in any circumstances.
For any batch/level change, you will have to pay a minimal fee after 4 classes are over:
Batch change request made between 4th and 8th class - A batch transfer fee of ₹ 1500 will be applicable.
Batch change request made between 9th and 13th class - A batch transfer fee of ₹ 2500 will be applicable.
Batch change request made between 14th and 18th class - A batch transfer fee of ₹ 3500 will be applicable.
Batch change request made after 18th class - A batch transfer fee of ₹ 4500 will be applicable.
Faq About TOPIK/Scholarship/jobs
Do you help with TOPIK preparation as well?
Yes, TOPIK preparation is included in all our courses. We provide you all the study material and guidance required for TOPIK test.
Which TOPIK level can I pass after completing an LKI course?
Korean language courses at LKI or any other reputed institute in India and Korea are designed for overall language learning (including reading, writing, listening and speaking) and not just for passing TOPIK test. So there is 100% sync between our course levels and TOPIK levels. In general, you can say that you should be able to pass TOPIK level 1 after completing our level 1 course and TOPIK level 4 after completing LKI level 4 course.
But there are students who passed TOPIK level 2 after completing LKI level 1 course or passed TOPIK 5 after completing LKI level 3 course and there are also some students who couldn’t pass TOPIK level 2 even after completing LKI level 3 course. It’s the same thing as in English, speaking good English doesn’t mean you will also get a good score in TOEFL/IELTS.
TOPIK is all about how hard you self-study, memorizing vocabulary and practicing with past papers. We will provide you all the study material and all the help you need but ultimately it all depends on you.
Do you provide guidance about scholarships?
Yes, we do. Our founder himself is a GKS scholar as well as POSCO TG Park Foundation Fellow. Yes, we regularly provide internship opportunities to our students to help them with their scholarship and job applications.
