Jobs For Korean Language Learners In India

Jobs For Korean Language Learners in India or in any other country are easily available if they have a minimum level of Korean proficiency and TOPIK certification.

TOPIK exam is conducted by the Korean government 6 times in a year Korea and 2 times in India.

To get a job in any company, a Korean language learner should have at least TOPIK level 3 or above.   

The next question is where can we find jobs?.

These days, everything is available online, and the same goes for finding job as well. You can search "jobs for Korean language learners in India" on google and you will find lots of job portals.

Some common job website are:

2. Naukri.com

After learning Korean, you can get jobs in the following fields:-

KOREAN TRANSLATOR 

The most popular and common job any foreign language learner wants to start their career with is a translator.

Anyone can start earning money at any age with any degree, if they have a TOPIK LEVEL 3 or above. The translation work can be done as a freelancer or as a full-time job in companies, but it's better to have level 4 to compete with other applicant and get a job easily. Because as TOPIK level 3 is the minimum a learner should have to get the job, most of the applicants would have that.

KOREAN INTERPRETER 

After translation work, the second most common job is to work as an interpreter. The requirement for this job is the same as the translation work. But in my opinion, this work needs more confidence and skills as one needs to interpret in real time from Korean to any other language and vice versa.


JOBS IN MNC

These days, many Korean companies are setting up their units in India. These companies need employees who know the Korean language to fill the language and communication gap, and who can help run their business smoothly. This has opened a pool of job opportunities for Korean learners in India. employees can also get a chance to work in the Korea office locations of their companies.

TEACHING KOREAN

After the above two jobs, the third most common job with a little less competitive environment compared to interpretation and translation work is teaching Korean.

If a student has TOPIK level 3 or above they can easily work at an Institute a part time or full-time easily. Or they can earn by giving private tuitions online or offline. 


EXPORT-IMPORT BUSINESS

You must be aware of the Export-Import business. This business suits those people best, who don't like to work for others and want to do something of their own.

Most of the time importers and exporters don't know Korean so they hire people who have a good knowledge of the Korean language and Korean business to work with them or they hire a translator/interpreter translating the descriptions of goods from Korean to other language and vice versa.

Or if you have the knowledge of the Korean language, you can also carry your own import-export business easily with no language barrier.

JOBS AT KOREAN EMBASSY

Korean Embassy In India also releases certain jobs advertisements every few months for contract based jobs.

It can be a good opportunity to get experience and boost to your career. After doing such contract-based jobs, it will be easier for you not only to work in Korean companies in India but also in Korean companies in Korea compared to other Korean language learners with no such experience.

Most of the embassy jobs require TOPIK Level-4 or above.


TOURISM AND HOSPITALITY INDUSTRY

Korea is in the list of top tourist attractions and every year records a high number of visitors, which opens the opportunities for a Korean language learners to work as a tourist guide or a travel planner.

Any Korean language learner can work with Korean/Indian companies that provide tourist guides to Koreans travelling to India.

TEACHING ENGLISH IN KOREA

Your career is not limited to teaching Korean in India. You can also teach English in Korea which is one of the well-paid jobs in Korea for foreigners. If anyone is living in Korea, it can e a great way to earn as a part-time job to support your life.

But to get hired to teach English in Korea, you will need. a TEFL certificate and a 4 year college/ university degree. You must gain an E-2 teaching visa and be a native English speaker or pass some other criteria as an Indian (search on the internet for those criteria).

YOUTUBE CREATOR

In this generation, where Everything is done on the Internet. The Influencers and creators are rising professions for earning a living.

The best part of these professions is your interest in Korean culture is enough to become a YouTube creator. You don't need to have a specific TOPIK score, but if you have it will surely give you an advantage. People from India who are living in Korea also share their lifestyle in Korea and Korean culture through their YouTube channel and earn well.

Some ways to become a creator on YouTube are:

1. Promoting Korean culture.

2. Kpop fan dance covers and reaction videos.

3. Teaching Korean.

4. Living in Korea

5. Promoting India in Korea.

6. Creating content on both countries' culture to bridging the gap.

BLOGGING

Inspired by the above concept YouTube creator, blogging is another way of earning and enhancing your career as a Korean language learner in India.

You can work in a company or as a freelancer and writing article and blogs about anything related to Korea and India.

Articles about Korean culture, Kpop and K-Drama get a high reach these days because of Hallyu wave and can be a good start of your career.
