According to this rule, in the verb stems that end with 'ㅅ', 'ㅅ' gets omitted when it gets conjugated with an ending that starts with a vowel.

EXAMPLES :

• 붓다- 부어요.
• 낫다- 나아요.
• 긋다- 그어요.
• 짓다- 지어요.

NOTE: 벗다, 웃다, and 씻다 conjugates normally even though they have'ㅅ' in patchim.

Examples:

• 벗다- 벗어요.
• 웃다- 웃어요.
• 씻다- 씻어요.
