Let's learn how to use Korean grammar "V + 아/어 주시겠어요?" with conjugation rules and some simple real-life examples.

V + 아/어 주시겠어요? (“Would you please … ?” / “Could you … ?”)

USE:

-아/어 주시겠어요? is a polite expression used when requesting someone to do something for you.

It is similar to “Would you please … ?” / “Could you … ?” in English.

CONJUGATION RULE:

V + 아/어 주시겠어요? grammar is used with verbs. The first step of ‘V + 아/어 주시겠어요?' conjugation is to remove ‘다’ from the basic form of the verb, Then you add  아/어 주시겠어요? to the verb stem.

If verb stem ends is ㅏ or ㅗ you add -아 주시겠어요?( 가다 - 가 주시겠어요?)

For all other verbs stem add - 어 주시겠어요?( 먹다 - 먹 주시겠어요? )

EXAMPLE SENTENCES:

  1.  사진을 찍어 주시겠어요?
    Would you please take a picture (for me)?
  2. 문 좀 열어 주시겠어요?
    → Would you please open the door?
  3. 주소를 알려 주시겠어요?
    → Could you please tell me the address?
  1. 조금 천천히 말씀해 주시겠어요?
    → Would you please speak a little more slowly?

ADDITIONAL NOTEs:

  • More polite than 아/어 줄래요? or 아/어 줄 수 있어요?
  • Often used with strangers, elders, teachers, or in customer service.
  • Shows respect + a soft tone, so it’s commonly heard in daily polite speech.
