Let's learn how to use Korean grammar "V + 아/어 드릴까요?" with conjugation rules and some simple real-life examples.

V + 아/어 드릴게요 [Korean Grammar]

USE:

아/어 드릴까요? is used when you politely offer to do something for someone.
It literally means “Shall I [verb] for you?” or “Would you like me to [verb] for you?” in English.

Brief Explanation in Hindi:

V + 아/어 드릴까요? मतलब:

“क्या मैं आपके लिए … कर दूँ?”

CONJUGATION RULE:

V + 아/어 드릴까요? grammar is used with verbs. The first step of ‘V + 아/어 드릴까요?' conjugation is to remove ‘다’ from the basic form of the verb, Then you add 아/어 드릴까요? to the verb stem or adjective stem.

If verb stem ends is ㅏ or ㅗ you add -아 드릴까요?( 가다 - 가 드릴까요?)

For all other verbs stem add - 어 드릴까요?( 먹다 - 먹어 드릴까요?)

EXAMPLE SENTENCES:

  1.  문을 열어 드릴까요?
    Shall I open the door for you?
  2. 가방을 들어 드릴까요?
    Shall I carry your bag for you?
  3. 사진을 찍어 드릴까요?
    Would you like me to take a photo for you?
  4. 설명을 다시 해 드릴까요?
    Shall I explain it again for you?

ADDITIONAL NOTES:

  • Shows respect and kindness, commonly used in customer service or when speaking to elders.
  • More polite than 아/어 줄까요?, which is casual.
  • Usually followed by an action you are willing to perform immediately.
