Let's learn how to use "ã„·" Irregular conjugation with some examples.

‘ㄷ’ 불규칙 (Irregular Conjugation) 

"ã„·CONJUGATION RULE:

According to this rule, the Korean verb stems ending with 'ㄷ' patchim get changed to 'ㄹ' when they get conjugated with endings starting with a vowel (like 아요/어요).


EXAMPLES :

  • 듣다- 들어요.
  • 걷다- 걸어요.
  • 묻다- 물어요.

NOTE: Some verbs like 닫다, 믿다, 받다 conjugate normally even though they have'ㄷ' in patchim.

Examples:

  • 닫다- ë‹«ì•„ìš”.
  • 믿다- 믿어요.
  • 받다- 받아요.
